Husband to Pat, father of two daughters Chanda and Chelsie and grandfather of three. Born and raised on a farm in Nebraska where he grew up in the commercial cattle world.
In 1981 moved to Guenoc Ranch near Middletown California with his family where he managed and operated a one thousand cow commercial operation for 23 years.
In 1990, during his time at Guenoc, Randy made a deal with a Japanese meat company and bred all of their cows to Japanese bulls via both AI and natural service. The project was 100% carcass oriented and by using the Japanese genetics and a slow high energy-feeding plan they were able to produce nearly 100% prime carcasses. The project was a great success and was featured as the cover story in the February 1997 Beef Today Magazine.
Randy oversees the day-to-day management of Top Line.
Mike Browning
Mike Browning, husband to Lisa and father of six, grew up near the Chicago Stock Yards introducing him to the cattle business. Mike purchased his commercial operation in 2000 in Middletown, CA. He later started Top Line Cattle in 2003 when the opportunity came about to purchase a herd of 40 years in the making. Today he is proud to be a part of a growing business that is one of California’s finest registered Angus herds.
Mike also is a 50% owner in the Chezacut Ranch a 750,000 acre operation in British Columbia where they run 1500 commercial pairs.

Zech Browning
Zech Browning became a commercial cattle producer in 2001. Then he heard there was a possibility that he could purchase some of the best genetics in the Angus breed. That’s when he joined as the other Browning in the Browning Sternberg Browning partnership that makes up Top Line Cattle. Zech’s knowledge of cattle comes from a variety of sources. While achieving his Bachelors of Science degree in Agricultural Operations Technology from Montana State University Bozeman, he was able to work with and for some people who make advancements on the cutting edge of technology in the beef industry. Since earning his degree and starting a family of his own, he has been working full-time with Top Line Cattle which is able to provide you with these top of the line genetics. Zech especially enjoys doing the AI work on the cowherd during breeding season.
